Volkswagen Car Engines: VW Golf Engine, Polo, Jetta, Passat and much more
Volkswagen Car Engines;
AG or VW engines, it is an automobile manufacturer based in Wolfsburg, Germany.
It forms the core of Volkswagen Group and is the world's fourth largest car producer
GM and Ford,
respectively. VW engines are offered here as used, reconditioned or secondhand
and are 100% guaranteed!
Air Cooled Engine
The Volkswagen air cooled engine is one of the most widely used and versatile internal
combustion engines in the world. Variations of this engine were produced by VW plants
around the world from 1936 until 2006. There engines have cast iron cylinders, forged
crankshaft and connecting rods, and cast aluminum heads and pistons were hallmarks
of the design.
Gasoline EngineThe EA111 engine series was introduced in the mid 1970s in the VW Polo. It
is a series of water cooled three- and four-cylinder gasoline and Diesel engines
in a variety of sizes. The overhead cam engine features a crossflow cylinder head
design and directly-driven auxiliary units. The exhaust side is in driving direction.
These comprises of three cylinders, four cylinders, EA113 / 827, EA888, five, six,
eight, ten, twelve and sixteen cylinders.
Overhead camshaft (OHC) valvetrain configurations place the camshaft within the
cylinder heads, above the combustion chambers, and drive the valves or lifters directly
instead of using pushrods. When compared directly with pushrod (or I-Head) systems
with the same number of valves, the reciprocating components of the OHC system are
fewer and in total will have less mass. Though the system that drives the cams may
become more complex, most engine manufacturers easily accept the added complexity
in trade for better engine performance and greater design flexibility. The OHC system
can be driven using the same methods as an I-Head system, these methods may include
using a timing belt, chain, or in less common cases, gears.
Many OHC engines today employ Variable Valve Timing and multiple valves to improve
efficiency and power. OHC also inherently allows for greater engine speeds over
comparable cam-in-block designs.
There are two overhead camshaft layouts:
Single overhead camshaft (SOHC)
Double overhead camshafts (DOHC
The 1.9 TDI is the emblematic turbodiesel from Volkswagen, which developed the notion
of various outputs of the same engine. In the Passat, the 90 hp was introduced
in 1993, the 110 hp in 1996
and the first TDI with pumpjet direct injection in 1998 with 115 hp. The EA086
is built in Puebla, Mexico for North America. These have progressively been discontinued,
and now only the new 105 hp version is used on new models, like the Golf V, the
Jetta and the new Passat.
The 134-170 hp 2.0L TDI engine was made to replace the older higher-powered versions
of the 1.9 TDI. It is the first DOHC 4-cylinder TDI engine made by Volkswagen. There
will be an even more powerful version of this engine for new
The V10 TDI is the biggest diesel engine used in personal cars.
