Nowhere is the heart of the marque more gloriously on show than in the stylish Bentley Azure convertible. Beneath the romantic lines of the convertible Azure is the advanced technology of a 150mph Bentley with a 6.75-litre, V8 engine producing 400 bhp (299.6 kW/406PS) of power and 590 lb·ft (800Nm) of smoothly delivered torque.

The Azure is a thoroughbred grand tourer, a full four-seater like the Continental R coupe, and with the same effortless, long-striding ability. With the emphasis firmly on breathtakingly powerful performance and dynamic handling specifications and by a turbocharged and intercooled 6.75 litre V8 engine that here adopts a prestissimo beat!  

The Continental R coupe, has a large-diameter exhaust system tail pipe suggests to the initiated that this motor car sports the 420 bhp, turbocharged and intercooled Bentley V8 engine with no less than an astonishing 650 lb·ft (875 Nm) of torque on tap. An exquisitely refined coupé that is effortlessly capable of 170mph (270km/h) and has a “fast touring” tune to its suspension system.

The open-topped Azure can be driven about town at a quietly civilised pace, but on an open road the Bentley confidently shows off its ability to deliver performance to make your heart thump with excitement. The powerful combination of 400 bhp (299.6 kW/406PS) from its turbocharged, 6.75-litre, V8 engine and drivetrain of tremendous agility puts the Bentley firmly in the class of sporting coupés with a 0-60mph/time of 6.0 seconds. But the huge torque, or pulling power of the Bentley’s engine, is measured at 590 lb·ft (800Nm), and those figures put it in a class of its own.

The Bentley Azure Mulliner convertible is utterly forgiving in its road manners. The close attention of Mulliner’s engineers will be evidenced by an effortless capacity to surge from rest to 60mph in 6 seconds — and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

The Continental T Mulliner are definitely not for the faint-hearted! This most muscular of Bentley sporting thoroughbreds, with the effortless capacity to surge from standstill to 60mph in 5.7 seconds (0 to 100km/h in 5.9 seconds) and a maximum speed of 170mph, offers the ultimate challenge to the Bentley-driving enthusiast of white-knuckle performance.
